Sivells - Composition Book Donation Info
Wharton ISD students will use Interactive Notebooks as a learning tool during the 2016-17 school year.  This instructional strategy requires that students use composition books to take notes and create graphic organizers.  Sivells Elementary School is requesting donations of composition books to be used by the students throughout the school year.  Anyone who would like to donate composition books is encouraged to drop off wide-ruled composition books at Sivells between 8:00 am and 3:00 pm.
Tax Ratification Election on September 10, 2016
Wharton ISD is having a tax election on Saturday, September 10, 2016.  The total tax rate would remain the same.  The TRE (Tax Ratification Election) just moves an element of the same total tax rate from one category (interest and sinking) into another category (maintenance and operation).  This switch means nothing to the total tax rate, but would increase our state funding by $600,000.  Click here to see the video.  Early voting at the Wharton County Annex, Suite 115, 315 E Milan St, Wharton, Texas:  8/24/16-8/26/16 from 8:00am-5:00pm; 8/29/16-9/2/16 from 8:00am-5:00pm; 9/6/16 from 7:00am-7:00pm. Election Day voting is Saturday, September 10, 2016, at Duncan Auditorium in the Wharton Civic Center from 7:00am-7:00pm.  Click here to see the Flyer.  Informational meetings will be provided at the following locations: Just Do It Now on Monday, August 29, at 7:00 pm; Wharton ISD Administration Office on Tuesday, August 30, at 5:00 pm; Wharton High School Cafeteria on Wednesday, August 31, at 6:00 pm; Wharton Elementary School Library on Tuesday, September 6, at 5:00 pm.

Update Student Contact Information
As our district prepares to provide necessary services for our students, Wharton ISD is asking for your assistance.  Flooding and fires have displaced many of our students.  Therefore, in order to keep individuals informed on what is happening in our district, and to ensure that services, including transportation, are in place for the new school year, we ask that you please contact your child's campus to update necessary contact information including your current phone number, mailing address and email address.  Also, please let the campus know if your child is in need of assistance with school supplies.   Wharton ISD understands that by working together we will have a wonderfully successful year.
