Keeping You Connected
From the Principal, Ms. Trisha Terrell

September 22, 2016

Greetings Parents and Families of Sivells Elementary School:

I would like to take a moment to introduce myself as the new Principal at Sivells Elementary.  My name is Trisha Terrell, and I’m extremely happy to be a member of the Wharton ISD school community. I’m very passionate about education, and I look forward to partnering with you to provide our students with a rigorous, engaging, and high-quality primary school experience. As a parent and grandparent, I recognize the importance of a strong home-school connection. Parents are every child’s first teacher, and I believe that by working together, we can make sure your child’s social, emotional, and academic needs are met.

Before joining Sivells, I served in a variety of teaching and educational leadership roles over the past 23 years. Some of the roles I have held include classroom teacher, varsity swim coach, cheer coach, Assistant Principal, Dean of Instruction and Principal.

I believe that great schools are the results of great teachers, so my primary objective will be to ensure that every student is receiving high-quality instruction from every teacher at Sivells Elementary. In order to do this, I will be providing teachers with feedback on their instruction, access to professional development, and reaching out to parents for support with academic and behavioral concerns. Parents, teachers, support staff, community and administration all play a part in helping our students meet and exceed our expectations of them. I will be working closely with Mr. Smith as well as our Leadership Team throughout the year to guarantee that all of our students are intellectually challenged and have access to the social and emotional support critical to students during the primary school years.

Meeting each and every one of you as the school year progresses is a personal goal! I am planning several "Meet and Greet" opportunities soon so that you can put a face with the name, and we can get a chance to know each other.

You will find that my door is always open, and I am always here to support you in any possible way.

Thank you for the opportunity to serve your families in this role! Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions, concerns, or ideas you would like to share.

Your proud principal,

Ms. Trisha Terrell

Our Mission
Wharton ISD will provide exceptional instruction to every student, every day, with a spirit of warmth, friendliness and personal pride.
