January 22, 2021
Wharton High School Parents and Guardians,
The water main break at Wharton High School is still being repaired and is taking longer to repair than expected. This severely affects our ability to provide bathroom use and the ability for students and staff to follow proper COVID-19 handwashing protocols.
Wharton High School will continue remote instruction through next week, Monday, January 25, 2021 through Thursday, January 28, 2021.
Friday, January 29, 2021 is a staff development day, no school for students.
If circumstances change, we will make an update. We apologize for any inconvenience this might cause. Thank you for your continued cooperation and support.
Sincerely,
Dr. Michael J. O’Guin, Sr., Ed.D
Superintendent of Schools

Tiger Family,
In an abundance of caution, I have decided to switch all district campuses to remote learning effective tomorrow, January 12th at 7:00AM through January 18th, 2021. This measure is a precautionary measure as the district prioritizes the health and safety of our students and staff. We will resume as normal with both remote and face to face learning on Tuesday, January 19th, 2021. All daily extracurricular activities (athletics and fine arts) are allowed to continue as planned with practices as long as district protocols are followed. Our mission of providing our students with quality instruction each day has not changed because of this temporary change.
Please know this decision was not made lightly. We understand how disappointing and disruptive this decision can be for our families. However, the safety of our students and staff are our priority. If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to speak with your child’s campus principal for clarification of the expectations of this temporary change from January 12th through January 18th.
Thank you for your understanding in this matter. Have a blessed day.
Sincerely,
Dr. Michael O’ Guin, Sr. Ed. D.
Superintendent of Schools
