Christopher Jones
Christopher Jones is a Houston, Texas native who grew up in the Missouri City and Sugarland, Texas areas. He attended Fort Bend ISD Stephen F. Austin High School, receiving a full scholarship to play football at Arkansas State University. He received his undergraduate degree with a BS in Chemistry while also being a 4-year starting letterman. He later received his master's degree in Educational Administration from Houston Baptist University and graduated with honors as a Phi Beta Kappa. He is now entering into his 16th coaching season as a very successful and accomplished high school coach and chemistry teacher. Coach Jones brings a wealth of coaching experience from various winning programs, such as; 5-years with C.E. King High School, seven years with Fort Bend ISD Elkins, and two years with Bridgeland HS in Cypress-Fairbanks ISD, one year with Fort Bend ISD Hightower. This will be Coach Jone's first year at Wharton High School as the new defensive coordinator and head boys track coach.
He has coached boys and girls at all levels of high school athletics in football, basketball, and track. He has accomplished multiple district football and track championships as a varsity secondary coach and head boys track coach. He has also made several Area and Regional appearances as a football and head track coach and qualified for the State Track meet every year. He has been a head track coach. Among his team accolades, he has coached several former athletes who have played football and track at the collegiate and professional levels.
Coach Jones has two children; daughter Aniyah, age eight, and son Aiden, age 2. Coach enjoys spending time with his family, live band music, and traveling worldwide. His favorite quote is, "take care of today, and tomorrow will take care of itself."
