WISD PBIS & Restorative Discipline
This is Ms. Aretha Williams twenty-eighth year in education. Her career began in Tyler ISD in 1994 where she has served as special education teacher, coach, first year teacher mentor, GEAR UP Coordinator, A.V.I.D Coordinator, PBIS Specialist, Assistant Principal, Coordinator of Scheduling and Dean of Student Services.
She earned a Bachelor of Business Administration from LeTourneau University. She also holds two master’s degrees, Master of Education in Educational Leadership from LeTourneau University and Master of Education in Sports Administration from Concordia University- Texas. She is also a Certified Anger Management Specialist 1.
She believes in the value of education and views teaching and learning as the vehicles to achieve an education. It was B.F. Skinner who stated, "education is what survives when what has been learned has been forgotten". Students can not learn without teachers and teachers can not teach without students. Once the relationship is respected by all stakeholders, the challenges in conquering the task is more doable.
