    Mrs. Garza earned her Bachelor of Science in Education from the State University of New York, College at Buffalo, also known as Buffalo State College, in May 1998.  In September 1998, she was hired to teach third and fourth grade at a private Catholic school in Lockport, New York.  It was during this time she attended State University of New York, College at Buffalo in the fall of 2002 to continue her education. In May 2004, she earned her Master of Science in Education with a concentration in Reading.

    In July 2007, she relocated to Texas with her two sons and she taught third grade at Youens Elementary School in the Alief Independent School District. In June 2012, Mrs. Garza was hired by Lamar Consolidated Independent School District. She taught fifth grade for three years at Travis. The last two years she was employed there she was the Academic Facilitator.

    During her employment with Lamar CISD, she was selected to participate in a fast-track Master Degree cohort created by the district to grow their own leaders. She earned her Master of Science in Educational Leadership and Supervision from the University of Houston-Victoria in August 2017.

    In May 2018, she applied, interviewed, and was selected to be an Assistant Principal at Sivells Elementary School with the Wharton Independent School District. Mrs. Garza is excited to be part of the Sivells family.

    Paige Soza is excited to be back with the Sivells family!  She started her career as a Kindergarten teacher at Sivells after receiving her Bachelors in Interdisciplinary Studies from the University of Houston-Victoria in 2013. She received her Masters in Education Administration from Lamar University in 2017 while teaching 2nd grade in El Campo ISD.  She is looking forward to being back in Wharton at Sivells Elementary as Assistant Principal, serving the students, parents, and teachers of the Wharton community.
