Christine Stransky, President
Mrs. Christine Stransky was born and raised in California where she graduated from Mt. Carmel High School in San Diego. She attended Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Oregon. In August of 1987, she was awarded the degree of B. S. in History as well as a Secondary Education teaching certification.
In 1991, Christine left southern California making her way to southern Texas and settled in Wharton. She served the students at Wharton Junior High School for 11 years. During those years, Mrs. Stransky taught Texas history, special education, and sign language. She also served as an 8th-grade girls’ athletics coach and the student council sponsor. For six years, Christine was the Wharton Tiger Sharks Swim Team coach, which was the summer swim program at that time. It was during these years that Christine met Bill Stransky, who she married in 1995. Bill serves as Executive Director for Texas R.I.C.E.
In June 2001, the Stransky’s were privileged to become foster parents to baby triplets – Elizabeth, Nicholas, and Sarah. Christine and Bill officially adopted the triplets in November of 2002. The Stransky triplets are now age 14.
The Stransky’s are members of First Presbyterian Church of Wharton (FPC). Christine helped to develop the IMPACT Program as a collaborative effort between the FPC, Boys & Girls Club of Wharton, Wharton ISD and the Wharton County Junior College LEAD program. Mrs. Stransky serves as the 13th Year/IMPACT Programs Coordinator for the Boys and Girls Club of Wharton.
Mrs. Stransky helped to establish the Wharton County Stray Pet Outreach Team (S.P.O.T.) in March 2008. She currently is serving her second term (2013 - 2016) on the Wharton ISD School Board in Position 3. Christine was elected by her peers on the school board to serve as Vice-President in 2012 and 2013.
